Fast facts: NASCAR’s annual Fourth of July weekend shootout should be a good one. Lots and lots of contenders at Daytona, starting with season points leader Kevin Harvick, the 2007 Daytona 500 winner. Harvick also won the restrictor plate race at Talladega this spring. Jamie McMurray won this year’s Daytona 500 and should contend. Tony Stewart is the defending champ of this race. ... Don’t rule out Jimmie Johnson. The fourtime series champ has really heated up in recent weeks. ... Even Dale Earnhardt Jr. should be a threat here. He’s winless in 74 races, but 13th in the standings — three points behind Carl Edwards in the race for the final Chase spot. Junior is usually strong at Daytona.
