Government’s role

Austin American-Statesman - - OPINION -

The BP oil spill is not the greatest disaster in U.S. history; the Dust Bowl was, and it was caused by the agricultural industry.

The government does not provide services; it performs duties. Services are rendered in consideration of remuneration for products or services rendered, but the government extracts revenue irrelevant of any consideration by the unwilling citizen. Services are rendered to customers. Duties are rendered to citizens whose labor is extracted for the execution thereof.

I am not a customer of the U.S. nor of the state of Texas. I am a citizen. Government is not business. MArK Willett
