MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Josh Banks tossed his first complete game of the season for Round Rock, but the Express dropped a 2-1 decision to the Redbirds at AutoZone Park.
The Express ( 3 5 - 4 7 ) dropped their 21st one-run game of the season and fell a season-low 12 games under .500. The Redbirds (44-37) have won each of the first two games of the three-game series.
Banks (8-6) fell to 1-5 in eight road starts, despite a 3.12 road ERA. The Express have averaged just 1.5 runs per game in Banks’ starts.
Friday, the Express had seven hits and stranded eight runners. In the fourth, Round Rock loaded the bases with no outs but did not score.
Round Rock scored in the eighth when Brian Bogusevic singled, moved to third on Tommy Everidge’s double and scored on a groundout by Ramon Vazquez.
