2 is com­pet­ing in his first Tour since 2004 and won his fifth stage over­all in cy­cling’s three-week show­case. Pe­tac­chi won ahead of Mark Ren­shaw of Aus­tralia and Thor Hushovd of Nor­way.

Who’s in yel­low: Fabian Can­cel­lara of Switzer­land leads Ger­many’s Tony Martin by 10 sec­onds. Bri­tain’s David Mil­lar was third, 20 sec­onds off the pace.

Where’s Lance: Seven-time Tour win­ner Lance Arm­strong is in fourth place, two sec­onds back of third place and 22 sec­onds be­hind the leader.
