The district will hold lev­el­ing cer­e­monies for its 12th and 13th ele­men­tary schools on July 31. Dur­ing the cer­e­monies, the Kyle and Buda Ma­sons will check that the cor­ner­stones of the build­ings are level.

The cer­e­mony for Pfluger Ele­men­tary, 4951 Marsh Lane in Buda, will be­gin at 9 a.m. The school is named for for­mer Trustee Ralph Pfluger, who did not run for re­elec­tion in May. He served as a men­tor to ele­men­tary stu­dents and will at­tend that cer­e­mony. He was a mem­ber of the district’s first school board in 1967 and served un­til 1974. He was elected to the board again in 2004.

Robin Kel­ley-Broad­way, for­mer prin­ci­pal of Green Ele­men­tary School and a for­mer as­sis­tant prin­ci­pal in the Austin school district, will be Pfluger Ele­men­tary’s prin­ci­pal.

The cer­e­mony for Car­pen­ter Hill Ele­men­tary School, 4410 RM 967 in Buda, will be­gin at 10:30 a.m. Jodie Wymore, a for­mer Hays district teacher, as­sis­tant prin­ci­pal and prin­ci­pal, will be prin­ci­pal.

Staff and vol­un­teers will of­fer tours of the schools af­ter the cer­e­monies.
