Austin American-Statesman - - OPINION -

Even though I find myself voting for more Republican candidates than for those of other persuasions, I am disappointed and distressed at the party’s poorly conceived and utterly transparent efforts to siphon off votes for Bill White by endeavoring to hoist a Green Party candidate onto the ballot.

And now that it’s been caught more or less red-handed, it’s taking the predictable route by denying and stonewalling. I guess just coming clean and admitting what it did isn’t an option.

Is it any wonder we’ve become a nation of cynics?
