Age-old wisdom

Austin American-Statesman - - OPINION -

Re: July 2 John Kelso column “Advice, or words a wisecracking old man once said.”

I enjoyed Kelso’s advice today. Since I am a year older than he is, I have a couple of items that might complete his list:

Never order barbecue in a restaurant that has a maître d’ in a tux.

Never order the eggplant souffle in a restaurant that has sawdust on the floor.

And, most important, food is never blue. If it’s blue, it ain’t food.

Thanks, Mr. Kelso. Elliot Richmond
