Blind patriotism

Austin American-Statesman - - OPINION -

As you routinely celebrated the Fourth of July, did you stop to think about how this holiday really isn’t applicable or germane to Texas and the rest of the Southwest?

In 1776, the 13 colonies were unhappy with England and declared their independence from it. Then through greed, elitism and racism, they proceeded to violently take the land of others while denying these people their independence and sovereignty.
