Four students earn rank oF eagle scout
These students have earned the Eagle Scout ranking, the highest level of recognition in the Boy Scouts:
Cameron Michael Davis, 18, son of Brian and Brenda Davis of Austin, helped the LBJ High School-Liberal Arts and Science Academy theater with storing and organizing props and costumes. He and his volunteers painted the storage area, constructed shelves and shoe cubbies, and installed closet rods for costumes and hooks for theater lights. The project took more than 300 hours. He will attend St. Edward’s University in the fall. He is a member of Troop 395, chartered by Shepherd of the Hills Presbyterian Church.
Spencer McCauley Davis, 18, son of Brian and Brenda Davis of Austin, designed and painted a mural at Gorzycki Middle School. He designed and planned the mural, plus supervised his volunteers in the wall preparation, painting and sealing. He plans to attend the School of Visual Arts in New York in the fall. He is a member of Troop 395, chartered by Shepherd of the Hills Presbyterian Church.
Joseph Rene Garcia, 18, son of Elsa and Richard Garcia of Lockhart, installed a statue of St. Francis of Assisi with lighting, a flower garden with a rock wall, and water lines at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Lockhart. He graduated from Lockhart High School and is a member of Troop 115, chartered by St. Mary’s.
Jeff Reed, 18, son of Rick Reed and Mary Maluski of Austin, made a crushed granite path for the YMCA on McNeil Drive and added a concrete slab and bike rack. He will attend the University of North Texas in the fall. He is a member of Troop 259, chartered by Pond Springs Church of Christ.
