Four stu­dents earn rank oF ea­gle scout

These stu­dents have earned the Ea­gle Scout rank­ing, the high­est level of recog­ni­tion in the Boy Scouts:

Cameron Michael Davis, 18, son of Brian and Brenda Davis of Austin, helped the LBJ High School-Lib­eral Arts and Sci­ence Academy theater with stor­ing and or­ga­niz­ing props and cos­tumes. He and his vol­un­teers painted the stor­age area, con­structed shelves and shoe cub­bies, and in­stalled closet rods for cos­tumes and hooks for theater lights. The project took more than 300 hours. He will at­tend St. Ed­ward’s Uni­ver­sity in the fall. He is a mem­ber of Troop 395, char­tered by Shep­herd of the Hills Pres­by­te­rian Church.

Spencer McCauley Davis, 18, son of Brian and Brenda Davis of Austin, de­signed and painted a mu­ral at Gorzy­cki Mid­dle School. He de­signed and planned the mu­ral, plus su­per­vised his vol­un­teers in the wall prepa­ra­tion, paint­ing and seal­ing. He plans to at­tend the School of Vis­ual Arts in New York in the fall. He is a mem­ber of Troop 395, char­tered by Shep­herd of the Hills Pres­by­te­rian Church.

Joseph Rene Gar­cia, 18, son of Elsa and Richard Gar­cia of Lock­hart, in­stalled a statue of St. Francis of As­sisi with light­ing, a flower gar­den with a rock wall, and wa­ter lines at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Lock­hart. He grad­u­ated from Lock­hart High School and is a mem­ber of Troop 115, char­tered by St. Mary’s.

Jeff Reed, 18, son of Rick Reed and Mary Maluski of Austin, made a crushed gran­ite path for the YMCA on McNeil Drive and added a con­crete slab and bike rack. He will at­tend the Uni­ver­sity of North Texas in the fall. He is a mem­ber of Troop 259, char­tered by Pond Springs Church of Christ.
