Man pulled from Colorado River
Paramedics transported a man in his 20s to University Medical Center Brackenridge on Sunday after pulling him from the Colorado River in East Austin. Austin Fire Department spokesman Thayer Smith said the man went under the water about 11:20 a.m. while swimming near the Roy G. Guerrero Colorado River Park. The man was underwater for about 20 minutes, Smith said. Emergency crews continued to perform CPR on the man as he was taken to the hospital.
