Questions at Qb
With a month to go before preseason camp, Penn State remains uncertain about who will replace the record-setting Daryll Clark at quarterback.
Sophomore Kevin Newsome, Clark’s backup last season, has the edge, but he threw only 11 passes in 10 games a year ago, completing eight for 66 yards. Sophomore Matt McGloin, and highly touted freshmen Paul Jones and Robert Bolden also will compete for the job. Jones, who enrolled in January, was the most-impressive QB in the Nittany Lions’ spring game, tossing a pair of 18-yard TD passes.
