young detainee says he will boycott trial
The youngest detainee at Guantánamo Bay says he wants to fire his attorneys and plans to boycott his upcoming trial. Omar Khadr is accused of throwing a grenade that killed an American soldier during a 2002 firefight at an al Qaeda compound in Afghanistan. The Canadian Press reported from a pretrial hearing that Khadr said he has no hope of justice from the tribunal system at the U.S. Navy base in Cuba. The 23year-old also said he rejected a plea deal.
