Power outages unrelated
Two separate power outages left some residents without electricity for a few hours early Tuesday.
About 500 customers on the south side of Old Town Georgetown, located east of Interstate 35, lost electricity at 2:30 a.m. and got power back at 5 a.m., city spokesman Keith Hutchinson said. At 6:45 a.m., 1,000 customers lost power in the same area, he said. Power was restored about 9:15 a.m., he said.
The first power outage resulted from a blown fuse caused by wildlife, while the second was caused by a tree limb falling on power lines, according to the Georgetown Utility Department.
