Solar farm and sunny memories

Austin American-Statesman - - OPINION -

The July 7 front page of the AmericanStatesman featured a map of the “Site of proposed solar farm.”

My home of the 1920s was centered by the Williamson County line, with one edge being Brushy Creek. Manda Carlson Road and Felder Lane had Carlson School, where my father received his six grades of learning. The slight turn onto Felder Lane was the home of two of my favorite cousins.

FM 973 was an unpaved road with no name remembered by me, but it was the source of my bus ride to Manor High School after graduating from eighth grade at Rice’s Crossing School. Pflugerville High School was my alma mater, where I graduated as valedictorian.

Also, the general area includes farm areas of my two sets of grandparents, encompassing parts of their original homes. It was a memorable trip back in time for me. E. g. VorwErk
