Two police officers suspended
Austin police officials have suspended two officers for violating departmental rules, according to disciplinary memos.
Officer Jeffrey Rodriguez was suspended for a day, a memo said, after his gun was discharged accidentally during a foot pursuit in February. No one was injured.
Officer Lori Noriega was suspended for a day stemming from a June 4 incident. A disciplinary memo said that while she was driving her patrol car, she slowed down for a red light in South Austin, checked a message on her patrol car computer and struck the rear of a car in front of her. No injuries were reported, and the car she struck sustained minor damage, the memo said.
