Af­ter an 11-win sea­son and its first out­right ACC cham­pi­onship since 1990, the Ge­or­gia Tech Yel­low Jack­ets ap­pear to be on the path to a school-record 14th con­sec­u­tive bowl game un­der two-time ACC coach of the year Paul John­son. But four im­por­tant ju­niors — safety Mor­gan Bur­nett, run­ning back Jonathan Dwyer, de­fen­sive end Der­rick Mor­gan and wide re­ceiver De­mary­ius Thomas — left for the NFL af­ter the Orange Bowl. Dwyer was the 2008 ACC player of the year; Mor­gan was the 2009 ACC de­fen­sive player of the year. Their de­par­tures put a strain on a team fac­ing four Top 25 teams on the road.
