Possible state breach found in immigrant list
SALT LAKE CITY — Gov. Gary Herbert’s office said investigators have found evidence that suggests a state database was breached to create a list of 1,300 purported illegal immigrants that has been circulating in Utah. The anonymous mailing demands that those on the list be deported, although some on it say they are in the U.S. legally. Herbert’s office said the list appears to have been created from information kept by the Department of Workforce Services.
