Win­ner: Bri­tish sprinter Mark Cavendish won his third stage of this year’s tour in 4 hours, 42 min­utes, 29 sec­onds.

Who’s in yel­low: Andy Sch­leck of Lux­em­bourg re­mained in the lead for the third straight day, still 41 sec­onds ahead of sec­ond­place Al­berto Con­ta­dor.

Where’s Lance? Arm­strong fell be­hind for the sec­ond straight day. He dropped one spot to 32nd place in the over­all stand­ings, 17 min­utes, 51 sec­onds be­hind Sch­leck.
