Price of stamps going up

Austin American-Statesman - - OPINION -

Re: July 7 article “Postal Service wants to raise cost of a stamp starting Jan. 2.”

The USPS intends to raise the price of first-class postage by 2 cents. Incrementally a small amount, but it seems like this is an annual event, and where does it stop?

Like many people, 80 percent of the mail I receive is junk that is sent at a cheap rate and goes directly into my trash, unopened. As a solution I propose that all mail be charged at the first-class rate. Not only would this increase the post office’s revenue, it would significantly reduce the volume of mail they handle.
