The scoop: The Lone Star Region of the Lincoln and Continental Owners Club is a group of Lincoln owners who love the brand, especially classic Lincolns, and aim to preserve and restore all Lincolns.

Top collector: C. Brown of San Antonio, who owns eight Lincolns from the ’50s, ’60s and ’70s.
MVP of the year: Donald ‘Doc’ Ellis of Salado, for his tireless contributions to making the Salado Meet an icon of Texas LCOC events.
Rookie of the year: J. Wiemann of Austin, who owns one of Jackie Gleason’s ’64 convertibles.
Biggest event: Annual Salado Texas Tri-Region Meet in April at the Stagecoach Inn, which typically features 30 to 50 Lincolns from across the state.
Giving back: Members enter and support other charity car shows, such as the Texas Classic Car Show at Rudy’s Country Store and Bar-B-Q on Research Boulevard in Austin and the Antique Carriage Car Show at Alzafar Shrine in San Antonio.
Members of the Lone Star group gathered last year in Fredericksburg with their Lincolns. Their big show is a triregion meet in Salado in April.
