May traffic at ABIA rises 6% from previous year
Passenger traffic at AustinBergstrom International Airport was up 6 percent in May from the year earlier.
More than 733,000 people flew through Austin’s airport that month.
Among major carriers, traffic was up 4.5 percent at Southwest Airlines, down 9 percent at No. 2 American Airlines and up 7 percent at Continental Airlines.
Delta Air Lines traffic was up 22 percent, and JetBlue Airways moved into fifth place, with a 36 percent gain.
United Airlines fell to sixth, with a 9 percent increase.
For the first five months of the year, airport passenger traffic was up 5.5 percent, to 3.3 million, compared with 2009.
