SAN ANTONIO — Texas football coach Mack Brown says he loves Nebraska.

At the Texas High School Coaches Association convention here Monday, Brown downplayed the firestorm generated by a promotional video the Cornhuskers released about a “red out” event scheduled for the Oct. 16 weekend when the Longhorns visit Lincoln.

Nebraska athletic director Tom Osborne had the video edited to delete a “Beat Texas” reference at the end.

“One of the coaching idols in my life has been Tom Osborne,” Brown said. “A lot of things we do are modeled after coach Osborne. I’ve always been a Nebraska fan. I love playing Nebraska, I love being at Nebraska. Those fans are wonderful.” and mass, using a scale provided by the NFL.

“We fought that with Leonard Davis when we first got here,” Brown said. “We’re so much further advanced now.”
