Kevin Fowler has assembled quite a supporting cast for the third annual Fowler Fest, with a trio of up-and-coming country hunks. AAron WAtson the smooth-crooning Amarillo native — and big Clay Walker fan — is on a roll with latest album ‘Angels & outlaws.’ Like Jason Aldean, Watson aspired to be a major-league baseball player before a career-ending injury. But unlike Aldean, Watson hasn’t yet hit the big time. He has the voice and the songs to eventually get there. KyLe PArK 2008’s ‘Anywhere In texas’ put this san Marcos-based hat act on the modern honky-tonk circuit. But the studio rat continues to work hard, vowing to release a four-song eP of original material every three months during the next year. When that run is over, fans will pick which songs make it to the next album. CurtIs GrIMes Last year, Kenny Chesney sponsored a ‘next Big star’ contest, with the winner to open for Chesney at the erwin Center. Grimes won. the 23-year-old from upshur County is still fairly green, but he has a great band and could be moving on to tennessee before too long.
