Bryant’s perspective

Austin American-Statesman - - OPINION -

Re: July 14 article “Leader knows foster care from the inside.”

Court Appointed Special Advocates of Travis County is excited about the perspective that Gigi Bryant brings to the Department of Family and Protective Services Council. We admire and applaud her achievements, especially in light of the challenges she faced as a child growing up in the Texas foster care system. This inspiring profile is bound to encourage others to overcome adversity and achieve success.

The hardships of growing up in foster care prevent success for numerous children. Fortunately, in our 25 years of work, we have met strong young people who have persevered and created futures as bright as Ms. Bryant’s.

For those looking to make a difference for abused and neglected children, become a CASA volunteer. For children who feel that no one can hear them, you can be their voice in the courtroom and in our community.
