Immigration disaster

Austin American-Statesman - - OPINION -

The article said that if the immigration bill giving amnesty to illegal students is supported by Congress and President Barack Obama, California and Texas will be the “biggest winners.”

As an immigrant who used to prepare amnesty and other immigration applications, I must warn Hispanics and other Americans that this legislation will be a disaster. It will lead to more legal and illegal immigrants and therefore more job seekers, students, patients and higher budget deficits. This is because those students, once naturalized, could be mobilized to oppose all measures to secure our borders.

Many will petition for their relatives to immigrate, and most will need jobs, health care and other social services.

Therefore, Texas and California will be the biggest losers, not winners.
