2 charged in Mon­day homi­cide

Austin po­lice made two ar­rests Tues­day in con­nec­tion with a homi­cide Mon­day in South­east Austin.

Joseph Ramirez, 46, was charged with murder and ag­gra­vated as­sault. His son, Eric Ramirez, 22, was charged with ag­gra­vated as­sault.

Po­lice iden­ti­fied the vic­tim as Ju­lian Robles, 53. Robles had been in a fight with Joseph Ramirez, his land­lord, and Eric Ramirez, in the 2600 block of Hoeke Lane. Dur­ing the fight, Eric Ramirez was stabbed, and Robles suf­fered blunt-force trauma to his head, ac­cord­ing to po­lice.

Eric Ramirez was taken to South Austin Hos­pi­tal and then to Uni­ver­sity Med­i­cal Cen­ter Brack­en­ridge. Robles was taken to Uni­ver­sity Med­i­cal Cen­ter, where he was pro­nounced dead. Joseph Ramirez was in the Travis

County Jail on Tues­day night, with bail

set at $100,000. Eric Ramirez was in the jail, with bail set at $75,000.
