2 charged in Monday homicide
Austin police made two arrests Tuesday in connection with a homicide Monday in Southeast Austin.
Joseph Ramirez, 46, was charged with murder and aggravated assault. His son, Eric Ramirez, 22, was charged with aggravated assault.
Police identified the victim as Julian Robles, 53. Robles had been in a fight with Joseph Ramirez, his landlord, and Eric Ramirez, in the 2600 block of Hoeke Lane. During the fight, Eric Ramirez was stabbed, and Robles suffered blunt-force trauma to his head, according to police.
Eric Ramirez was taken to South Austin Hospital and then to University Medical Center Brackenridge. Robles was taken to University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. Joseph Ramirez was in the Travis
County Jail on Tuesday night, with bail
set at $100,000. Eric Ramirez was in the jail, with bail set at $75,000.
