Local answers to new law

Austin American-Statesman - - LOCAL BRIEFING -

Confused about how the new health care law will affect you?

Officials at Central Health, formerly known as the Travis County Healthcare District, said they heard from focus groups that people were confused about the law and wanted help understanding it. To that end, Central Health on Monday posted a Q&A about the law on its website that covers a variety of topics with a local accent. Find it at www.traviscountyhd.org/healthcare_reform.html.

“This is our attempt to reach out from a local perspective … to help people better navigate the changes coming forth with health care reform,” district spokeswoman Christie Garbe said Tuesday.

The Q&A covers topics such as how the law affects those who have insurance, those who don’t and those who work for small businesses in Central Texas that don’t offer employee coverage.
