The In­ter­na­tional En­ergy Agency says more than half of China’s en­ergy in 200 came from heav­ily pol­lut­ing coal, such as from this mine in Dadong. China has over­taken the United States as the world’s largest con­sumer of en­ergy, as cal­cu­lated by the In­ter­na­tional En­ergy Agency.
