report: scientist gave intelligence on CIA

Austin American-Statesman - - THURSDAY BRIEFING -

TEHRAN — Iran fired a new salvo in what is becoming a propaganda war over the defection and later return of an Iranian nuclear scientist, with Tehran suggesting that Shahram Amiri was a covert operative who provided “valuable information” about the Central Intelligence Agency’s inner workings. Iran’s semiofficial Fars news agency quoted an unidentified source as saying Iranian intelligence agents were in touch with Amiri while he was in the U.S., and “he was managed and guided (by us).” The report also said that his tale would be made into a TV movie.
