THREE VIE FOR OPEN SEAT ON ROLLINGWOOD COUNCIL
Rollingwood received three applications for its open alderman seat on the City Council: two recent candidates and a former alderman.
Barry Bone, who leads the Rollingwood Utility Commission, and Kelli Carlton, who leads the Rollingwood Park Commission, both ran unsuccessfully for two spots on the City Council in the May 8 election. Leslie Davis, who served on the council from 2001 to 2007, also applied for the open seat.
At its meeting Wednesday, the council was expected to consider appointing one of the applicants to the vacant seat. The application deadline was July 15.
The opening was created after Alderman Bill Hamilton ran for mayor in May.
The council voted 3-1 last month to appoint an alderman by an application process. Roxanne McKee voted against the move.
