WATER WORK PLANNED IN 2 CITIES

Austin American-Statesman - - LOCAL BRIEFING - Compiled from staff reports

The City of Pflugerville and the Manville Water Supply Corp. will perform water quality maintenance through Aug. 18.

A chlorine shock and system flush will be performed as part of a maintenance program that runs from July 28 to Sept. 1 and is a standard maintenance procedure recommended by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, according to a city news release. City crews will flush fire hydrants throughout Pflugerville.

Flushing of the system also will take place in the City of Manor. There may be times of low water pressure or abnormal odors or taste, the City of Manor website said. An odor or taste does not mean the water is unsafe to drink, it said.

Those in Manor who have questions may call 272-5555 or 703-8587 for after-hours emergencies. Pflugerville customers with questions or concerns should call Pflugerville Public Works at 251-9935.
