OU, Ne­braska top me­dia poll

Me­dia rep­re­sen­ta­tives who cover the Big 12 pre­dict Ok­la­homa and Ne­braska will play for the 2010 con­fer­ence foot­ball cham­pi­onship.

In the league’s pre­sea­son me­dia poll re­leased Wed­nes­day, the Sooners were the nar­row pick to sup­plant Texas as the South Di­vi­sion cham­pion. Ok­la­homa picked up 16 first-place votes and 146 points, while the Longhorns grabbed the 10 other first-place votes and 140 points.

Texas A&M was a dis­tant third in the South (97 points), fol­lowed by Texas Tech (68), Ok­la­homa State (53) and Bay­lor (42).

Ne­braska was the run­away win­ner in the North, re­ceiv­ing all 26 first-place votes for 156 points. Mis­souri was sec­ond (125), fol­lowed by Kansas State (79), Kansas (70), Colorado (61) and Iowa State (55).
