thrown for a loss
Some teams lose key players to the NFL. Or to injuries. Then, there’s Oregon. Probably no team in college football has had more highprofile scrapes with authority than the Ducks. After last season, quarterback Jeremiah Masoli looked like a top Heisman Trophy candidate for 2010. Then came the offseason.
First, Masoli was suspended for the season after pleading guilty to burglarizing a fraternity house. Then, a month ago, he was kicked off the team after he was cited for driving with a suspended license and possession of marijuana. Not surprisingly, quarterback is the biggest question mark for the Ducks entering this season. Kelly apparently will wait almost until the opener to decide between fifth-year senior Nate Costa and sophomore Darron Thomas.
