the Kiffin effect

Austin American-Statesman - - SPORTS - — John Maher

Oregon’s season, and the national title hopes of the Pac-10, might hinge on a pair of games, one against a team that Lane Kiffin left, the other against the school Kiffin now coaches.

Oregon’s second game of the season, at Tennessee, is intriguing for several reasons. It’s one of a dwindling number of inter-conference games between BCS schools, a chance to see how the Pac-10 favorite can do against a traditional SEC power. How good will Tennessee be this year after Kiffin’s sudden departure? The same could be said of Kiffin’s new school, Southern California, which has been stung by NCAA sanctions. Just how fast will the USC dynasty crumble?
