Ex­press take late-in­ning win

ROUND ROCK — Win­less in 46 games when trail­ing af­ter the sev­enth in­ning, the Ex­press couldn’t have picked a bet­ter time to take the lead Wed­nes­day.

In search of its first backto-back wins in nearly three weeks, Round Rock peeled off a sea­son-high seven runs in the bot­tom of the sev­enth in­ning of an 11-8 win over New Or­leans, earn­ing its first con­sec­u­tive wins since June 26.

Ed­win Maysonet went 3 for 4 with two runs and Brian Bo­gu­se­vic drove in four on three hits, in­clud­ing a 415-foot homer in the third in­ning.

The Ex­press have cranked out 23 hits and 22 runs over their last two games.

T.J. Bur­ton (2-3) picked up the vic­tory, pitch­ing a score­less sev­enth in­ning.
