exes’ di­rec­tor gets new post

ex­ec­u­tive di­rec­tor and CEO of the Ex-Stu­dents’ As­so­ci­a­tion, also known as the Texas Exes, an­nounced this week that he will step down in De­cem­ber to lead the newly formed Texas Exes Schol­ar­ship Foun­da­tion.

Un­der Boon, the Texas Exes de­vel­oped Longhorn Vil­lage, a re­tire­ment com­mu­nity in Steiner Ranch; se­cured ex­clu­sive rights to sell UT class rings; launched the UT Her­itage So­ci­ety; and ex­panded its leg­isla­tive ad­vo­cacy pro­gram. His new charge is to raise $150 mil­lion to sup­port 300 full-ride, merit-based schol­ar­ships for the foun­da­tion’s 40 Acres Schol­ars Pro­gram. He has raised $22 mil­lion so far.
