“We are mov­ing in the right di­rec­tion,” he said. “We have demon­strated we are a solid com­pany, with solid prod­ucts and a re­ally good team of peo­ple who are en­gag­ing with our cus­tomers.

“We are clearly on the right path and we are weath­er­ing this down­turn and han­dling the things that need to be done so that we come out of it as a bet­ter com­pany.”

Freescale em­ploys about 20,000 peo­ple world­wide and about 5,000 in Austin.
