a VY in the making?
Buckeyes quarterback Terrelle Pryor has long been compared to former Texas great Vince
Young. Both are big guys who can make plays with their arms and their legs. Like Young, Pryor was plagued by inconsistency during his sophomore year, and just like Young, Pryor dominated the Rose Bowl at the end of the season. He was downright spectacular against Oregon, completing 23 of 37 passes for 266 yards and a pair of touchdowns, despite playing with a partially torn knee ligament.
After undergoing knee surgery in the offseason, the junior hopes to improve upon a 2009 season in which he led the Buckeyes in rushing (779 yards) and passing (2,094 yards, 18 TDs). Pryor also hopes to add yet another similarity to Young by season’s end: as a junior, VY was a Heisman Trophy contender who led his team to a national title.
