the U visits the Shoe

Austin American-Statesman - - SPORTS - — Cedric Golden

The Horseshoe is always filled to capacity at 105,000-plus when the Buckeyes play, but there will be an extra buzz in the air on Sept. 11 when the Miami Hurricanes come to town. It will be the first meeting since the 2002 national championship game when the Buckeyes topped the Hurricanes 31-24 in double overtime at the Fiesta Bowl. Folks in Coral Gables call it the “Flag Game,” referring to the late pass-interference penalty against Miami on an incompletion that appeared to come on the last play of the game. Folks in Columbus call it the day the Buckeyes won their seventh national title.

We will simply call it a great early-season matchup that can’t get here soon enough.
