Acc takes a step toward buying site for campus
Austin Community College announced Tuesday that it has entered into a contract to acquire 72 acres for a possible future campus in San Marcos.
The contract is contingent on voters in the San Marcos school district agreeing to join the ACC taxing district in November. The college would purchase 21 acres for $2.28 million from Cottonwood Creek JDR Ltd., and the company would donate 51 acres.
The property is in the Cottonwood Creek development on Texas 123 south of downtown San Marcos.
ACC has also acquired land for possible future campuses in Bastrop, Elgin, Kyle, Leander and north central Austin. Those acquisitions totaled $35.4 million.
