Free classes on Alzheimer’s

The Alzheimer’s As­so­ci­a­tion Cap­i­tal of Texas Chap­ter is again of­fer­ing free weekly classes to help care­givers of loved ones with Alzheimer’s or dementia.

Each class in the Fac­ing the Chal­lenge Care­giver Ed­u­ca­tion se­ries is dif­fer­ent and will be held on four con­sec­u­tive Tues­days, start­ing Aug. 10, at the chap­ter’s of­fice at 3429 Ex­ec­u­tive Cen­ter Drive, Suite 100. Classes last about an hour, with the first meet­ing at 6 p.m. and the other three at 4 p.m.

Classes will cover the di­ag­no­sis and treat­ment of Alzheimer’s, man­ag­ing the pa­tient’s be­hav­ior, com­mu­ni­cat­ing with them, keep­ing them safe and sup­port for care­givers among other topics.
