Free classes on Alzheimer’s
The Alzheimer’s Association Capital of Texas Chapter is again offering free weekly classes to help caregivers of loved ones with Alzheimer’s or dementia.
Each class in the Facing the Challenge Caregiver Education series is different and will be held on four consecutive Tuesdays, starting Aug. 10, at the chapter’s office at 3429 Executive Center Drive, Suite 100. Classes last about an hour, with the first meeting at 6 p.m. and the other three at 4 p.m.
Classes will cover the diagnosis and treatment of Alzheimer’s, managing the patient’s behavior, communicating with them, keeping them safe and support for caregivers among other topics.
