Rain or shine? We’ll take a little shine

Austin American-Statesman - - METRO & STATE -

Summer rain is good for trees and grass, but after a while it can be annoying for man and beast. At Festival Beach, above, Austin police officer Mike Wade takes cover and waits out the rain Wednesday with Jack, right, and Buck, who was feeling feisty and needed a little talking-to. Farther north, one man uses a folder as an umbrella as he crosses 11th Street in front of the Capitol. The forecast calls for clearing skies today and sunshine through the weekend. But could the year’s first 100-degree day be on the way?
