Texas State picked 3rd in South­land

Texas State was voted tied for third place in the South­land Con­fer­ence pre­sea­son coaches poll and fourth in the sports in­for­ma­tion di­rec­tors poll. The Bob­cats re­turn 19 starters from a 7-4 team that was 5-2 in the league.

Stephen F. Austin, the co-de­fend­ing champ and with 16 starters back, is the fa­vorite in both polls, led by quar­ter­back Jeremy Moses, the 2009 SLC player of the year. McNeese State, which shared the ti­tle with SFA, is picked sec­ond in both polls, fol­lowed by South­east­ern Louisiana.

Texas State of­fen­sive guard D.J. Hall and wide re­ceiver Da’Mar­cus Griggs were named to the pre­sea­son all-con­fer­ence first team. Bob­cats wide re­ceiver Daren Dil­lard, de­fen­sive tackle Ad­ley Eshraghipour and linebacker Mar­cus Clark are on the sec­ond team.
