In lawsuit, U.S. accuses Oracle of deception in software deal
The Justice Department filed suit against Oracle Corp., accusing the software giant of defrauding the U.S. government in connection with a major contract.
The complaint alleges that the company misrepresented its discount policies and manipulated transactions involving a software contract for the General Services Administration. Oracle reported total sales of about $1.1 billion under the contract, which covered software licenses and maintenance, according to the complaint. Through a spokeswoman, Oracle declined to comment.
