Rams give Brad­ford record guar­an­tee

ST. LOUIS — No. 1 over­all draft pick Sam Brad­ford agreed to a six-year, $78 mil­lion con­tract with the St. Louis Rams, with $50 mil­lion in guar- an­teed money.

The Rams and the for­mer Ok­la­homa quar­ter­back con­cluded ne­go­ti­a­tions Fri­day night, just in time for the first full-squad work­out set for to­day.

The guar­an­teed money is the high­est ever in the NFL. Other sign­ings:

• Left tackle Trent Wil­liams, the No. 4 over­all pick in the draft by the Red­skins, got a six-year, $60 mil­lion con­tract that in­cludes $36.75 mil­lion in guar­an­teed money.

• Safety Eric Berry, the fifth over­all pick in last spring’s draft from the Uni­ver­sity of Ten­nessee, says on his Twit­ter ac­count that he’s reached a deal with the Chiefs.

• The Vik­ings signed sec­on­dround draft pick Toby Ger­hart, who will back up Adrian Peter­son at run­ning back, to a four-year deal.
