Slay­ing vic­tim wrote of love

2009 An­der­son High grad­u­ate was shot by Chiefs line­backer boyfriend Satur­day.

All seemed well just months ago be­tween 2009 An­der­son High grad­u­ate Kasan­dra Perkins and Kansas City Chiefs line­backer Jo­van Belcher.

The cou­ple, who, ac­cord­ing to Perkins’ Face­book page made pub­lic their re­la­tion­ship in Fe­bru­ary 2010, had a baby girl in Septem­ber.

The month prior, Perkins wrote she was “in love with Su­per­man,” along with a photo of Belcher leap­ing through the air in a foot­ball game.

In an­other photo that Perkins posted with the cap­tion “My loves,” Belcher is cradling their new­born.

But tragedy struck Satur­day when Belcher fa­tally shot Perkins, then drove to Ar­row­head Sta­dium and com­mit­ted sui­cide in front of his coach and gen­eral man­ager.

Au­thor­i­ties did not re­lease a pos­si­ble mo­tive for the mur­der-sui­cide, though po­lice said Belcher and 22-year-old Perkins had been ar­gu­ing re­cently.

Ac­cord­ing to The Kansas City Star, which quoted a friend of Perkins, the cou­ple had ar­gued about 1 a.m. Satur­day af­ter Perkins re­turned to the cou­ples’ home from a Trey Songz con­cert. The news­pa­per re­ported that Belcher was an­gry that Perkins stayed out late with friends.

Ac­cord­ing to the story, Belcher shot Perkins hours later, and the shoot­ing was wit­nessed by Belcher’s mother, who was vis­it­ing from New York.
