Historical Commission seeks members
Residents have through Dec. 21 to apply to serve on the Hays County Historical Commission.
Members serve two-year terms and must be able to attend meetings every fourth Thursday of the month. They’re also expected to take an active role in the projects of the commission, which works to promote the preservation of the county’s historical resources, including archaeo- logical sites. The commission’s activities range from placing official state historical markers to researching the history of the county to offering historical tours.
The Hays County Commissioners Court appoints residents to the commission every other January. Applications are available on the commission’s website, www.hayshistoricalcommission.com. They should be turned into Hays County Judge Bert Cobb’s office.
