Stars win 10-round shootout
The Texas Stars won in the 10th round of a shootout Sunday, beating the Peoria Rivermen 4-3 for their fourth straight road victory.
The Rivermen had a 2-0 lead after the first period on goals by Tyler Shattock and Derek Nesbitt.
The Stars narrowed the gap when Cam Barker scored with 7.9 seconds left in the second period.
Texas tied it in the ninth minute of the third on a goal by Jordie Benn and took the lead 14 seconds later when Reilly Smith beat goalie Jake Allen over the blocker side shoulder at 9:27.
The Rivermen evened the score with 3.6 seconds left on a power-play goal by Nesbitt.
The shootout lasted until rookie Alex Chiasson put the Stars up 2-1 with a wrist shot off the inside of the left post.
