A Waco-based home services company with locations worldwide is ramping up its presence in the Austin area, opening new franchises focused on lawn care, air conditioning and appliance repairs and electrical and plumbing work.

Mr. Rooter, part of the Dwyer Group, recently opened its 19th Texas location, serving Travis and Williamson counties — and plans to add up to five more in the market, the company said.

The Dwyer Group has about 1,600 franchisees, with 1,300 of them in the U.S. and Canada, according to Dina Dwyer-Owens, whose father founded the company. Overseas locations include a cluster in the United Kingdom.

“We still have a lot of room left for expansion in the U.S. and we’re looking for the right people to represent us,”
