Alamo close to home for Beavers RB Woods
Running back will have a homecoming of sorts when his Beavers play Horns in San Antonio.
When Mike Riley announced to his Oregon State football team Sunday that the Beavers were bound for the Alamo Bowl to play Texas, Storm Woods’ reaction was less than subtle.
“I was jumping up and down with excitement,” the Beavers’ redshirt freshman running back said. “I was ecstatic.”
Small wonder. The Dec. 29 bowl game will be something of a homecoming for Woods, who, like Longhorns defensive end Alex Okafor, played at Pflugerville High School.
Consequently, Woods — the Beavers’ leading rusher — will have his own cheering section
Oregon State running back Storm Woods (middle), from Pflugerville, was ‘jumping up and down with excitement’ when he found out his team would play in the Alamo Bowl.
